It’s been over a month since our re-opening and it has been fabulous to come back and work with our students again. It is great to see our students train hard in person and online! We greatly respect and honour your taekwondo passion. Because of all of you, we are still here. Our club is continuing to keep a close watch on the Covid cases in Alberta and we feel that we still need to maintain our current level of precautions for training. We believe our students have been great role models and model citizens for our community and we hope to continue this during our phase 2 of re-opening from August 17th, 2020. Procedures are as follows:
Thank you for staying patient and loyal to our club at this hard time. Our bond as a community of martial artists are getting stronger by your participation and support through this difficult time. We will continue to provide you the best training and efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy. Sincerely, Chan Lee Taekwondo Grandmaster Chanwoo Lee Master Cecilia Lee Moving on to PHASE 2 of RE-OPENING....
Hello members and parents of Chan Lee Taekwondo, First of all, thank you so much for your patience and diligent participation during our Phase 1 re-opening from June 30 - July 31st. It has been amazing for us masters and instructors to see our students so eager to get physical and continue their Taekwondo journey. We have carefully reviewed our student participation and feedback during phase 1. A decision was made to keep our class limit to 13 students for the time being. Masks and face shields will still be mandatory to ensure the safety for students & Instructors of Chan Lee Taekwondo. With that said, we have plans to increase our class size to a maximum of 18 students by late August. We are able to maintain physical distancing at this number. Addition of Cohort Classes for Phase 2 On Wednesday at 4pm and Thursday 7:35pm we have decided to try cohort classes. A cohort class is when the participants of a specific class stay the same and each member takes responsibility of keeping each other safe by following all government protocals outside the dojang. A cohort class will have more interaction among students such as holding targets and increase us of gym space. To join a cohort class you must email Master C confirming that you understand what a cohort class is and that you want to join one. Master C will then send you a confirmation with which class you will be assigned into. We will also be continuing online classes throughout August and September. However, starting October we hope that everyone returns to indoor practices. For any further discussions and questions, please feel free to contact Master Cecilia at chtkd.master@gmail.com Sincerely, Chan Lee Taekwondo This can be confusing the first time so lets review the step again 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Dear Members of Chan Lee Taekwondo,
Based on the latest updates from the Government of Alberta we are taking the following measures that we feel will be the best situation for our members. Classes will remain open Monday to Wednesday this week and will close starting Thursday for 2 weeks (March 19th to April 1st). The classes will be optional with adjusted class times. We feel these 3 days are necessary as a way to inform those members that do not use social media and we were unable to reach in someway. Adjusted schedule will be as follows: 4:20 - 5:10pm, 5:10 - 6:10pm, 6:10 - 7:00pm, 7:00 - 8:00pm. Student’s who were planning on belt testing this Friday the 20th have two options. You have a choice to postpone your belt testing or to book a time during the next 3 days to do it in class. Please email chtkd.master@gmail.com. After the 2 weeks of closure we will re-evaluate on a weekly basis and update the members on further closure or re-opening of the school. Although there are no known cases within our members, we want to do our part in minimizing the potential of community spread. We are exploring ideas for our students & families to continue their training from home as well so that our members can continue to benefit from our program. We thank you in advance for your continued support and cooperation during this tough time. We will take this crisis to rejuvenate our Taekwondo family once it passes. If there are any questions or concerns please contact Master C at chtkd.master@gmail.com
Dear Students, Parents & Guardians,
The COVID-19 virus is causing a lot of concern globally and locally. The Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the public health risk to Canadians as low. However given the global circumstances, most health departments & organizations are actively preparing for the potential of local outbreaks. Providing a safe environment for you and your child’s personal growth is a key priority here at Chan Le Taekwondo. As such, we would like to ensure our members that we are doing our part to mitigate any risks but it will take a team effort and we urge you to do your part. We’ve been even more vigilant over the past week in wiping down equipment & hard surfaces with disinfectant sprays & wipes. We have also: 1) posted signs reminding people to wash their hands & to use hand sanitizer before entering the training area 2) for the time being, we’ve eliminated high fives, handshakes, and some partner drills We understand some of you have vacation plans around March Break. If you are travelling out of Canada, we implore you to educate yourself about conditions in the country & area that you are travelling to. The Public Health Agency of Canada recommends that travellers returning from impacted areas (including China, France, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Italy, Singapore, and South Korea) take extra precautions and monitor health for symptoms 14 days after returning home, contacting the local health authority if they feel sick. We suggest any members or immediate family members who have recently returned from affected regions, self-impose a 14 day isolation period automatically (stay home). Missed classes can be made up at a later date. We haven’t ruled out the possibility of having all students who have travelled anywhere out of the country, to stay away from the school for 2 weeks upon returning to Calgary. We will see how things progress over the next several days. At this point in time we do not see a need to cancel classes but would definitely reevaluate if there is a spike in Calgary’s confirmed cases.
