Dear Students, Parents & Guardians,
The COVID-19 virus is causing a lot of concern globally and locally. The Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the public health risk to Canadians as low. However given the global circumstances, most health departments & organizations are actively preparing for the potential of local outbreaks. Providing a safe environment for you and your child’s personal growth is a key priority here at Chan Le Taekwondo. As such, we would like to ensure our members that we are doing our part to mitigate any risks but it will take a team effort and we urge you to do your part. We’ve been even more vigilant over the past week in wiping down equipment & hard surfaces with disinfectant sprays & wipes. We have also: 1) posted signs reminding people to wash their hands & to use hand sanitizer before entering the training area 2) for the time being, we’ve eliminated high fives, handshakes, and some partner drills We understand some of you have vacation plans around March Break. If you are travelling out of Canada, we implore you to educate yourself about conditions in the country & area that you are travelling to. The Public Health Agency of Canada recommends that travellers returning from impacted areas (including China, France, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Italy, Singapore, and South Korea) take extra precautions and monitor health for symptoms 14 days after returning home, contacting the local health authority if they feel sick. We suggest any members or immediate family members who have recently returned from affected regions, self-impose a 14 day isolation period automatically (stay home). Missed classes can be made up at a later date. We haven’t ruled out the possibility of having all students who have travelled anywhere out of the country, to stay away from the school for 2 weeks upon returning to Calgary. We will see how things progress over the next several days. At this point in time we do not see a need to cancel classes but would definitely reevaluate if there is a spike in Calgary’s confirmed cases. We encourage students and members who have flu and cold like symptoms to stay home until full recovery and make up the missed classes when they feel better. Our dojang will operate normally and continue on with activities to improve our health and immunity to fight the disease. Instructors and black belts have been taking extra care to keep our practice environment clean and students are notified to wash their hands and sanitize before, during, and after classes. We would like our parent members to help by teaching their children to wash hands throughly and keep clean hygiene including their uniform, belongings, and equipment.

It's been another amazing year, Chan Lee Taekwondo went under serval major changes but despite of everything, thank you for your patience, trust, loyalty, and commitment 2019 Cadet National Champion, Marcello Fontana comes back with bronze at 2019 Pan American Championship in Portland, Oregon. It was tough fight losing against U.S.A but he came back around on 2nd day attending 2019 Pan American Open winning a gold medal. Congratulations Marcello and Master Cecilia for your hard work and success! chan lee tkd team fought with heart to represent alberta on the podium in hopes to make the canadian national team to cadet world championship. as well as junior pan am championship this summer. Congratulation to Vivian Liu Silver medal @ 2018 Canada Open in Richmond, BC Tough Fight with strong heart goes out to Grisham Sanchez and Marcello Fontana at Canada Open. Congrats to Master C coached Brazil National Team at Canada Open resulting 2 GOLD MEDAL! Lets keep going Team ! Mini Tournament that was held on Master Chanwoo Lee's birthday on October 20th was a huge success! We had great turn out of over 30 students at all age and levels =) Thank you for support and great fighting spirit that day! You are all amazing! Until next time, Let's keep training !
